Your poetry reminds me of Sylvia Plath, much before your time, but with the same kind intense feeling of a woman more sensitive than the rest, the sharp and unusual piercing images, the converstional tone and syntax. Somewhat self-absorbed and intensely personal, but that is how poets begin to grow. And grow “lovely penguin” will certainly do. There is a charade here, though, because, through this writing, “lovely” penguin is really “lonely” penguin, the curse of the talented. The next step in the evolution of this excellent poet is less self-absorption without losing the exquisite images and metaphors. That will come soon, I have no doubt.
